Honourable Ahmed Kalambaina was, on Thursday, declared winner of the Wamakko/ Kware House of Representatives All progressive Congress (APC) primary election.
The primary election, which, was conducted in Kware town, headquarters of Kware local government, had expected 657 delegates according to the chairman, returning officer, Senator Edet Otu.
Senator Otu, while declaring the result, said however that, 17 of the delegates were absent while a single vote was invalid.
According to him, the primary election was conducted under a very
serene environment with every aspirant and delegate behaving in a
manner that shows APC’ s maturity in the nation’s political landscape.
Senator Otu affirmed that, Ahmed Kalambiana scored 619 of the total
votes cast to defeat his co-contestant, Saqik Mohammed who got 19
While admitting the result of the primary election, Saqik Mohammed
congratulated Ahmed Kalambaina, just as he assured him of his total
Ahmed Kalambaina, on his part, assured of efficient, quality,
all-inclusive and result oriented representation.
Recall that, the primary election was conducted to fill the vacant
position created by the death of Abdullahi Wamakko (Speaker), the
House of Reps member representing Wamakko/Kware federal constituency.
Abdullahi, who is the younger brother of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda
Wamakko, died some months ago in a Nigerian hospital after a brief
Consequent upon Abdullahi’s demise, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently declared his seat vacant and ordered that a bye-election be conducted to enable Wamakko/Kware federal constituency have a representative before the end of October.
