As part of its mandate to keep the satellite towns in the Federal
Capital Territory (FCT) clean, Satellite Town Development Department (STDD) has commenced a massive cleanup exercise around the popular Nyanya Interchange and market area.
The coordinator of STDD, Hon. Isiyaku Tanko Yamawo who inspected the exercise yesterday, assured that the Federal Capital Territory
Administration (FCTA) remains committed to ensuring a safer and
hygienic environment for residents.
Yamawo added that the exercise would be an ongoing exercise, just as he appealed to residents, particularly those living in the suburbs to desist from dumping refuse on drainages and by the roadsides.
A statement signed by the public relations officer of the department, Felicia Meeme and made available to LEADERSHIP Weekend added that the STDD team also carried out desalting of drains around the interchange and roads leading in and out of Nyanya settlement.
