Rotary club of Barnawa in Kaduna south local government area of Kaduna State has donated library equipments to Government Secondary School in Ungwa Television in Kaduna South local government area of Kaduna State.
Meanwhile, Kaduna State Government has commended the educational stride of the Rotary Club of Banarwa Kaduna particularly for its support in complementing the efforts of the state government in the sector.
Speaking shortly after the donation, the President of the Rotary Club of Banarwa, Rotarian Florence Gbande said that Rotary Club is known with humanitarian projects which education is one of the core areas of focus, stressing that September month is for basic education and literacy projects.
According to her, “This is part of our core focus to always embark on basic education and literacy projects that will apenhance teaching and learning process. This project is carried out in partnership with Mike Omotosho Foundation, and this is the phase one of the project, the phase two and the phase three of the project will come up anytime soon,” she said.
Rotarian Gbande who was pleased with the performances of the students during the questions and answers session pledged to organized an Interactive Club under the supervision the Rotary Club.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology Prof. Andrew Nok who was represented by the Director of Library Board, Abdullahi Nura and applauded the effort of the Club, said, “the effort of Rotary Club must be appreciated in order for them to do more. We are happy with their consistent commitments towards complimenting government efforts”.
He therefore urged the students and the school management to make use of the items in a coordinated manner especially the Library Equipment.
Some of the items donated include exercise books, Text Books, Chairs, Library Equipment, among other writing materials. (leadership. M)
