Plateau First To Unveil Judicial Seal In Northern Nigeria- Chief Judge

The Plateau state acting Chief judge, Justice Yakubu Gyang Dakwak has unveil the state judicial seal saying the Seal of Plateau State judiciary on its processes is the official representation of the judicial authority.

The Acting Chief Judge stated this at the premises of the state high court in Jos yesterday while unveiling the seal pointed out that the objective of the seal is to regulate any inappropriate behaviour that may arise within the system as well as from members of the public as regards orders, judgments and all court processes.

He added that the seal will among other things check forgery ,
touting leakages and to authenticate all judicial processes both from superior to the lower courts stressing that the seal be protected from abuse and should only be used on all documents with decorum and discretion.

The acting chief judge further noted that by unveiling the Plateau state judicial seal, Plateau is the 3rd stage in the country to come up with this initiative and the first in the whole of the northern part of the country.

According to him, the development is a further demonstration of the tripartite relationship of governance in the presentation of judiciary seal which had the nod and approval of governor Simon Lalong.

He solicit for the support of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA)
ministry of Justice (MOJ) and members of the public in ensuring the success application of not only the seal but also the proposed new high court civil procedure rules which will come up very soon.
