Ohanaeze Ndigbo To Sue FG Over Discriminatory Appointments

Apex Igbo social cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has vowed to
sue the federal government over what it described as patently
discriminatory presidential appointments against the South-east and
South-south states.

President-general of the organization, Chief Onyia Nwodo hinted this
yesterday while briefing journalists at the end of the national
executive meeting of the association held in Enugu.
He disclosed that the group already constituted a committee of senior
advocates of Nigeria (SANs) from Ohanaeze states to initiate an action
against the federal government on the issue of these federal
appointments.
According to him, a look at the presidential appointments made since
the current federal government was sworn-in shows that patently
discriminatory attitude towards the South-east and South-south states
as well as a complete violation of the Nigerian constitutional
provisions regarding federal character.
