Not Only Christians, Muslims Won’t Vote For el-Rufai, Senator Says

The Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly under the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Shehu Sani has said that not only Christians, but that even Muslims won’t vote for their state governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai in the coming election.
Sani, while reacting to comment made by el-Rufai at a Channels Television morning show, Sunrise Daily that Christians in Kaduna have made up their minds not to vote for him even before he picked a Muslim woman as running mate, said el-Rufai is unfit to be governor.
According to el-Rufai, even if his running mate is Pope, the highest religious leader in the Catholic Church worldwide, christians won’t vote him in the March 2, 2019 gubernatorial elections.
But speaking yesterday during a live programme, ‘Politics Today’ on Channels Television, Sani said it was not only the Christian that won’t vote for El-Rufai adding that the Muslims won’t vote for him too.
“Nasiru is unfit to be governor,” Sani said, referring to the consensus of Kaduna people to off load him during the polls.
According to the activist turned politician, el-Rufai’s romance with president Buhari won’t save him from the decision of the majority of Kaduna voters that are determined to get rid of him through the ballot.
“He has subjected the people into difficulties. People are suffering,” Sani said insisting that the people are against the governor because of what he described as anti-people policies since assuming office.
“Even the Muslims won’t vote for El-Rufai,” Sani said while responding to a statement from Elrufai that 67 per cent of Christians in Southern Kaduna will not vote for him in the governorship election even if he picks the Pope as his running mate.
