Nigeria’s stability tied to peace in Southern Kaduna – CAN President

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has said that Nigeria would experience total peace if people of Southern Kaduna and other areas being attacked by militants, herdsmen and others are rescued.

The association said the resolution of the crisis would be a yardstick to resolve other crisis elsewhere.

The President of CAN, Dr. Samson Ayokunle made the comments on Thursday when he led a delegation including CAN executives to distribute relief materials worth N8million to victims of the southern Kaduna crisis.

He demanded the immediate reopening of all government institutions closed down due to the crisis and the provision of adequate security thereafter.

The College of Education Gidan Waya, Kafanchan Campus of Kaduna State University (KASU) and College of Nursing Kafanchan, was shut down by the state government to protect lives and properties.

He said that if the state government is sincere to its people, it must ensure that those institutions were opened and adequately protected.

Also, the CAN Secretary, Kaduna State, Rev. Sunday Ibrahim urged the state government to put security measure in place “To help our people that are predominantly farmers to go back to their farm lands, more so the rain has started, otherwise, we see imminent famine in the land.” DAILYTRUST.M
