Group of Women in Nasarawa State yesterday staged a protest in the street of Lafia the state capital asking the ministry of women affairs to reform their N2500 Aisha Buahri free interest loan to them.
The women who staged the protest to AMBA micro Financial bank where they picked their interest form said the need their money back
They were accusing the management and staff of AMBA Micro Finance Bank for collecting two thousand five hundred Naira from each person as enrolment fees from over 30 cooperative groups of 10 persons, only to noticed that they were not part of the recent disbursement done in Lafia.
This however, triggered the protest for the management to refund them all the registered fee or to pay the Federal Government social stipend.
Asebe Tanimu, who speak to nesmen in lafia said ” our problem is that we have registered Two thousands five hundred Naira each woman in the group of ten, which they suppose to refund us with N20, 000, but they said the can only give N10,000 to each group.
” that is why we are saying no to that, our money most be paid in full since we are not part of the scheme, and this is about two years now that they have collected the money from us” she said.
Effort to speak with the Management of AMBA Micro Finance proved abortive, as pressmen went to the Managing Director who was unavoidably absence.
