National Union of Lottery Agents and Employees (NULAE), Kano state
chapter has solicited for the support of the Nigeria Police, HISBAH
and Kano state government in creating an enabling environment that
would aid the flourishing of the trade in Kano.
The trade union body disclosed that it will without a doubt, set up
the special task force to rid the state of fraudsters, randomly
masquerading as lotto operators.
The newly inaugurated state chairman of NULAE, chief Sydney Emeafu,
while inaugurating the special squad said, the decision to set up the
squad is aimed at ensuring lotto operators comply with the extant laws
regulating the trade.
According to him, lottery business in the ancient city of Kano is
suffering from stigmatization arising from infiltration by quacks and
The trade in the state requires holistic sanitation and harmonization
of lotto practitioners.
Emeafu said, the body will in collaboration with the National Lottery
Regulatory Commission (NLRC), vigorously work to maintain compliance
of ethics regulating the trade.
He pointed out that plans are on, to help improve internal generated
revenue ( IGR), in the state , while soliciting for the support of

44 local government areas in the state, noting that such collaboration
will pave way for increase in generation of revenue for the state
