The people of Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State have been advised to come out en masse and vote candidates of their choice, during the fourth coming local government election in the state billed for May 12, 2018.
The Administration of Jema’a local government Alh. Yusuf Muaza Usman gave the advice on Monday at the end of a one week sensitization exercise embarked upon, throughout the six chiefdoms by the National Organization Agency,NOA, in conjunction with the information office of the local government.
Addressing journalists in his office, the Administrators called on members of the public, especially the youth, to shun violence and anything capable of jeopardizing the peace being enjoyed, which could hamper the smooth conduct of the local council polls.
Alh.Yusuf Muazu Usman called on those who have attained the age of eighteen years and above and are yet to get registered to approach INEC office, register and obtain their Permanente Voters Card (PVC) that will enable them exercise their franchise.
He also advised the Kaduna State Independent Electoral
Commission (SEICOM) to ensure that electoral materials reach the polling units at the appropriate time before voting commences.
