A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Peter Danjuma Averik, has declared his intention to contest for the Jema’a Local Government chairmanship election coming up in May, 2018.
Averik, a philanthropist and humanist who hails from Kogum River in Jagindi Ward, told Elanza News that his intention is to serve the people of his local government and Nigerians if given the opportunity.
“Yes, be inform that I will be contesting for the Jema’a Local Government Chairmanship position coming up in May 2018 under the platform of the PDP,” Averik said while declaring his interest.
“We need prayers from all and every possible support,” Averik added.
Averik had told Elanza News on January 9, 2016 that he was ready to serve his people.
Love by many, the coming of Averik into the Jema’a chairmanship contest is viewed by the people of the local government as the coming of a ‘good man’ into the system.
Elanza News gathered that Averik was a delegate during the last primary elections of the PDP.
The PDP chieftain as part of his community service, revived all the water bore holes in his community shortly after the PDP primary elections in 2014.
His relationship with stakeholders in the LGA has been very cordial, it was gathered.
“We are making frantic efforts to improve the relationship and exploring better ways to move our local government forward.”
“The politics of Kaduna State is interesting and challenging because Kaduna was the capital of the then Northern region and people from all walks of life live and do businesses in Jema’a LGA in particular and the state in general. So, we are out to serve the people,” Averik said during an interview with Elanza News in 2016.
