JEMA’A LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL SUES FOR PEACEFUL CO- EXISTENCE

From Julius B. Kezi

The newly elected council members, Jema’a Local Government, under the
leadership of Hon. Peter Danjuma Averik have called on the people of the area to
continue to co-exist peacefully with one another devoid of religious, political and
ethnic differences.

The council members made the call during a thank you tour of the six chiefdoms
and emirate in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

Addressing the traditional rulers in their palaces, the Emir of Jema’a, Alh.
Muhammad Isa Muhammadu, Kpop Gwong-Paul Zakka Wom, Tum Nikyob,
Mallam Tanko Tete, Agwam Fantswam- Mallam Musa Didam, Chief of
Godogodo- Mr. Iliya Ajiya and Odion Nyenkpa Darigo 1- Mr. Sako Gajere; the
council chairman noted that “without peace and unity, no meaningful
development would be achieved.

Thanking the electorates for electing them into office, Averik declared that there
will be no party, religious or ethnic difference in his council, assuring that their
concern is how to unite and develop Jema’a Local Government.

He therefore called on the electorates to give the council good advice and
constructive criticism as they implement open door policy.

Responding, the royal fathers appreciated the visit of the council, promising their
full support and counsel. They reminded the council members that they were
elected to serve God and humanity, hence they would not only graduate with one
certificate of service, but would be called to account for their stewardship before
God and electorates.

They prayed God to grant them courage and wisdom to govern the people to
success.
