A pressure group, under the auspices of National Support Group for Uche Nwosu ( NSGFUN) has thrown its weight behind the candidature of the chief of staff and son in law to Governor Rochas Okorocha, Uche Nwosu, adding that the state needs an experienced person to sustain the developmental legacies of the governor.
In a statement by the group’s National Coordinator, Omoba Kenneth
Aigbegbele, he noted that after critical analysis and evaluation of those jostling to govern the state in next year election, Nwosu stands out as a grassroots politician with youthful appeal and possesses the right credentials to govern the state.
The group, which flayed the exponents of zoning arrangement in the
state, argued that what is necessary is the capacity and ability of the candidate to deliver democratic dividend to the state and not premised on zoning. It also maintained that there was no charter of equity that promoted zoning in the state, as previous gubernatorial elections were contested by other candidates in the three zones.
The group further disclosed that it had set machinery and structure in place to mobilise and coordinate support for the actualisation of Uche Nwosu governorship ambition.
“The aims and objectives of of the group are to mobilise and galvanise national and state stakeholders towards the candidature of Ugwumba Nwosu and build a national consensus in favour of his candidature as well as mobilise the media, civil society group and galvanise support towards his mandate, while supporting the continuity in governance of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s proactive legacies through the ascension of leadership of Nwosu”
