I Pity Anybody Who Can’t Survive Outside Politics – Chime

The immediate past governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime has
tackled some politicians in the state for allegedly occupying a
particular office for a long time, saying anybody who cannot survive
outside politics does not have any business being in politics.

Chime, who recently defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC),
from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a party he led for many
years, said the problem of our people is insatiability, insisting that
those who have served should give way to others to serve.

He spoke at the weekend during the crossover ceremony of the former
chairman of PDP in Udi local government area, Chief Donald Nnadi to
the APC.

All the APC chieftains in the state including the former governor,
Sullivan Chime who attended the defection ceremony which took place at
Ngwo-Uno ward of the former PDP boss congratulated the latest decampee
for taking a bold decision to leave PDP,.

“The problem of our people is insatiability. If you serve, give way
for others to serve. Where that kind of thing happens is where you
don’t have people, but if there are other capable people, then one
should serve and give way for others to serve.

“It is because they have reached the end of their capacity that they
are running around like mad dogs. They are agitated and threatened,
feeling that what they are holding for long is about to be taken away
from them. Anybody who cannot survive outside politics is not fit
enough to be in politics,” he said.

He claimed that some people being sponsored to castigate him were fond
of telling people what he did not do as governor without telling them
what he did, stressing that under his administration, he mapped out
the needs of every community in the state, called “visit every
community” (VEC), where they itemized the needs of the people and
addressed most of them before living office.
Chime stated that since government is a continuum, the present
administration in the state should continue from where he stopped,
more so as huge debt being owed the state, more than N40 billion, at
his time, are now being repaid to the present administration.
Earlier in his speech, the national vice chairman of APC, South east
Zone, Chief Emma Eneukwu, represented by the zonal publicity
secretary, Hyacinth Ngwu, assured new members that in APC there are no
new members and old members, urging everybody to join hands as equal
partners to sack PDP in the state in the next general election. ELANZANEWS.M
