There is new hope for the people of Rivers State as Julius Berger’s historical contractual delivery records and dependable engineering construction capabilities was the preferred partner at the ceremony to flag off the Bodo-Bonny road construction project in Bonny, Rivers State on Thursday.

The Bodo-Bonny road project which was first conceived under the
military administration of General Yakubu Gowon in 1973, has
previously, over the past decades, suffered so much implementation hiccups and failure.

Loud echoes of hope filled the air at the flag off event which was done by the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo. Speaking at the event the managing director and CEO of the Nigeria LNG Mr Tony Attah, said “with a strong partner like Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, it is assured that this time around, the Bodo-Bonny road project will be completed and delivered for use”.

From minister of Works, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, Senator Magnus Abe, the Senate President who was represented by the chairman, Senate Committee for Works, Senator Kabiru Gaya, to His Royal Majesty, King Edward Asimini William DapaPepple III Perekule XI, the Paramount Ruler of the Grand Bonny Kingdom, all stakeholders at the event celebrated with high praise to the government and the Nigeria LNG Limited the choice of the reputable engineering construction company, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, as the contractor for the construction of the Bodo-Bonny road.

Senator Magnus Abe who called the project “a strategic national and critical linkage asset for socio-economic integration and development for the benefit of all Nigerians”urged the communities around the project corridor to promote peaceful cooperation with the company to bring about the delivery of the project within the stipulated time.
