Family Seeks Justice Over Alleged Slain Son In Delta

A community vigilante member (name withheld) has been detained in a
cell at the Nigeria Police, “A” Division, Ughelli for the alleged
murder of an 18-year-old boy, Kelvin Oghenenyole Jonathan Obeghwara of
number 14 Osadjere Street, Ughelli Delta State who was allegedly shot
from behind last Sunday.

It was gathered that Kelvin and his friend were returning home from an
outing at about 10pm when he met his untimely death from the gun of
one of the community vigilante members for being on the road at that
time of the night.

Kelvin a tilling specialist and the only son of his mother, a family
source lamented just returned from the day’s tiling job with some
cartons of tiles probably for the next day’s job when his friend,
simply identified as Godstime came to where he was sitting in front of
his mother’s apartment and took him out for the evening meal.

According to sources, Kelvin reluctantly followed his friend out on a
motor bike driven by the same friend at about 8pm and on their way
back home at about 10pm, the vigilante men on patrol around Okorodafe
accosted them and they stopped, they were directed to move into a
waiting van belonging to the vigilante.

His friend , God’stime was said to have shouted aloud, “the fear of
Bakassi/vigilante is the beginning of wisdom or you want them to tie
us OKPOROKO for no offence”, and they took to their heels. ELANZANEWS.M
