The Emmanuel Baptist Church Gwagwalada has ordained it’s first set of Deacons and a Deaconess who joined the Pastor in providing leadership to the Church.
Emmanuel Baptist Church is under the Amazing Grace Baptist Association of the FCT Baptist Conference ordain Deacon John Zankan Yayock, a lecturer with the FCT College of Education, Deacon Olili Uhrorho Oyovwikigho, a staff of the FCT Secondary Education Board and Deaconess Dr. (Mrs.) Adenike Olusola Adeniji, a lecturer with the University of Abuja.
The newly ordained Deacons and Deaconess pledged to serve the Church faithfully and and in an exemplary manner in dealing with the current issues and living a moral life.
The Church pastor, Revd. Adewuyi Olusegun Adeyemi in his goodwill message explain that the church of Christ must learn from soldier and value working as a unit.
He said “I want you to look around you and see that members of this congregation and those who are gathered around you today are part of your unit. They are counting on you to do your part just as much as you are counting on them to do theirs.”
Revd. Adewuyi charge the Church to join hands together with the ordain servants to serve in order to promote, enhance and increase the growth of the church by giving them their due respect and honor without looking down on any of them.
The guest speaker, Revd. Timothy Akanbi of First Baptist Church Lugbe, admonish the deacons and deaconess to be objective, diligent and sincere as they are special servants with higher responsibilities and to be always conscious of why they were chosen, in order to keep them on track.
Speaking on behalf of the deacons and deaconess, Dn. John Zankan Yayock express how elated they are to be chosen by the Church to serve in this capacity and promise to give their best to the fullest.
