Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai has reappointed Abdullahi Garba Abbas as chairman, Kaduna State Community and Social Development Agency.
el-Rufai had earlier appointed Abbas as Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman of Giwa Local government but latter sacked him on the ground of allege corruption.
Abbas was reported to the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by the same government for investigation after the sack.
Abbas was secretary, el-Rufai’s campaign council, a team that work for his election in 2015.
He was appointed Chairman, Giwa local government area but was later removed following alleged abused of office and lack of due process and laid down procedure in the awards of contracts.
Abbas has been a regular visitor to the EFCC, Elanza News gathered.
Sources say the state government might have written to the EFCC retracting it earlier allegations against Abbas in order to retain his support and loyalty in the coming 2019 elections.
But Abbas’s letter of appointment seen by Elanza News dated 13 August, 2017 signed by the Secretary to the Kaduna State government, Balarabe Abbas Lawal stated: “I am pleased to convey to you the decision of the governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasiru Ahmad el-Rufai to appoint you as Chairman, Kaduna State Community and Social Development Agency.”
“2. The Appointment is based on your wealth of experience, good track record of performance and keen interest shown by you towards the development of the state. It is therefore expected that you will bring your wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of your duties.”
“3. You are therefore required to indicate your acceptance of this appointment within one week of receipt of this letter.”
“4. Please accept my congratulations and best wishes,” the letter reads.
