The government house correspondent of The Pointer Newspaper, Comrade
Fidelis Egugbo, has flagged off his campaign for the chairmanship
position of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta state
council, with a promise to uplift the union in all ramifications.
Addressing a crowd of journalists from different chapels of the
council, who gathered to witness the flag-off held in the newsroom of
The Pointer Newspapers, Comrade Egugbo said his victory will usher in
a new dawn for the union.
He said his achievements as chapel chairman speaks volume of his
capability to perform and give the union quality and focused
leadership at the state union.
The candidate said he will ensure a monthly meeting of the union and
programmes where members would be given opportunity to contribute
meaningfully to the administration of the union, stressing that
majority opinion will always be allowed to prevail.
Comrade Egugbo also revealed that he had plans to guarantee unity
among members of the union and carry out projects that will positively
impact on the welfare of members, adding that transparency and honesty
