The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria has commended the conduct of the ward congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state describing it as sucess.
Addressing a world press conference in Bauchi, the national coordinator, CSOs in Nigeria, Micheal Babatunde commended the government and people of Bauchi state for a succesful congress that met the yearnings and aspirations of APC Members in the state.
Babatunde said after collating and reviewing reports of all the civil society organization field officers sent to all local government areas to monitor and observe the conduct of the ward congreses, disclosed that there where high level of transparency and fairplay at all levels.
He averred that the congress was generally hitch free and successful.
He said, “The various team leaders of the party both within the state and those sent from the national headquaters to conduct the congreses except one local government where there was a reported case of violence. By and large, it was a huge sucess and acceptable to the generality of members.
“We equally appeal to citizens of the state to exhibit same conduct in the upcoming local government congress slated for this coming weekend.”
Babatunde, however, commended the state governor and all the security agencies for the patriotic role they played during the ward congreses.
