By Robbers Raid Students’ Hostel In Asaba

Armed hoodlums numbering about three, operating with a motorcycle robbed students’ hostel located at Area 74, back of Ibori Golf Club between 9 and 10pm in Asaba.

It was gathered that the hoodlums robbed apartments, including that of a banker residing in the hostel. According to one of the students who spoke to our reporter, they were in their rooms watching movie when they heard knocks on their doors telling them to open at gunpoint.

According to the source, the robbers got hold of one of the students who went out to buy something to eat; they grabbed him at gunpoint straight to his apartment and raided the house, carting away his handset phones, his feeding money, laptop and other items.

After they were done with the first victim, the robbers, who were heavily armed, broke into the apartment of a female banker, and, also at gunpoint, carted away about seven handsets, three laptops, jewelleries, an undisclosed amount of money, electronics, cloths and ATM cards.

It was learnt that the robbers forced the female banker to disclose her ATM card number, and, thereafter, hurried of the hostel to awaiting motorcycle they used for the operation.

The source told our reporter that the first set of students to stay in that hostel were frustrated out by incessant armed robbery attacks on them by unknown gunmen.
