Bajju Bombers and Zonkwa United are to clash at the maiden edition of the Agwam Bajju/BAYODA Unity Football tournament.
The competition which will kick start on Sunday, December, 2nd 2018, will end on the 23 December 2018 at the River Basin Football Field, Zonkwa.
Districts like: Zonkwa, Abobo, Kurmin Bi, Fadia, Gumel, Kafom. Tsoriyang, Aduwan Gida, Madakiya, Ayagan, Fadan Kaje, Attass, Afana, Ung/Rimi, Marsa/Rikawan, Kpunyai/Chenchuk, Ung/ Yanshiyi, Aduwan 1 Kamrum Abet Farman Zuturung Mazuga and Zagwom are participating in the competition.
According to the organizers, after the opening ceremony, matches would be played in four different centers.
The centers are: Zonkwa, Madakiya, Ungwar Rimi and Abet.
The competition which is under the chairmanship of a former Attorney General of Kaduna State, Barr Mark Jacob Nzamah, is to serve as a unifying factor among the youths.
The Bajju Youth Development Association (BAYODA) is the youth arm of the Bajju Development Association (BADA).
The organization it was gathered, is saddled with the responsibility of coordinating youth programmes and activities in Kajju and have over the years embarked on innovative and sustainable programmes, services that improved the physical, Socio-Political and overall well being of the Bajju people.
Elanza News Reports that the competition is aimed at creating a platform for youths to foster unity and promote togetherness through sports and to also rediscover talents and create an avenue for nurturing carrier growth and development in the sporting world.
“There will be grouping. Matches will take place simultaneously across those centers with the exception of the opening and closing ceremony which will be hosted in Zonkwa on the 2nd and 23rd December respectively,” the Bajju youth leader, Habila Kayit told reporters.
The opening ceremony which is billed to be a novelty match between Bajju Bombers and Zonkwa United, will also witness a display of dresses and match pass by all the participating teams at the opening ceremony where Agwam Bajju and his members of council will address the youths.
The organizers say the opening and the closing ceremony would be fun fair with music and entertainment.
The event, it was gathered, will also witness live commentary from a talented comedian, M.C Dan Bajju.
“Awards and medals will be giving to deserving teams and players as well as a certificate of participation to all players.”
“This event is not only necessary but timely,” Habila Kayit said insisting that it will help to promote creativity and carrier growth among the youths.
He said the competition will create room for economic activities by encouraging the sale of memorabilia and the consumption of food and beverages.
“It will encourage sport amongst the youths, combat youth restiveness and create an avenue for interaction,” Kayit said of the tournament adding that it will create more unity among the youths.
“The general public is hereby invited to this grand sport festival where entertainment and creativity will be displayed in its pristine form,” Kayit added.
