ACF Move To Unite North, Inaugurates Kaduna Excos

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) on Wednesday inaugurated the newly elected Executive Council of the Kaduna State Chapter with a call for all Northerners to unite.
Inaugurating the newly elected members, the National Secretary of the ACF, Mr Anthony Sani said he has no doubt that the new executive will deliver on their set target and unite the people of Kaduna State and Northern Nigeria.
Sani, who said that Kaduna has been setting the pace for the entire Northern Nigeria, urged the new executive to keep the desire and focus of the ACF alive.
He said the stand of the ACF is to bring the people of northern Nigeria together politically and otherwise adding that the present challenges can be summoned.  
“Work hard and overcome the differences that divide our people especially the Kaduna people,” Sani added.
Speaking after the inauguration, the newly elected Chairman of ACF Kaduna State chapter, Comrade Mohammed Kabir assured that with the team he has, Kaduna people will not be disappointed.
He said he was not the best but emerged through the trust vested on him adding that he need the advise and contribution of all Kaduna people in other to restore unity and trust in the state.
The outgoing chairman, who is also the father of the immediate past governor of the State, Mr Ramalan Yero said he was glad to have headed the ACF.
According to Ramalan, initially, there was no ACF in Kaduna State but they formed it through a small office at the National headquarters. He said they later got an apartment, furnished it with the necessary equipment and cars.
Yero said it was a time for them to give way for a new executive haven spent two tenure of six years.
The legal adviser of the group, Barr Sulaiman Soba said that the division in Kaduna State was not a good omen adding that it was time for the ACF to unite the people of the state.
The incoming secretary of the ACF, Dr Patrick Katuka said the Exco will build on the foundations laid by the outgoing leaders.
According to Katuka, the challenges in Kaduna State and Nigeria are surmountable since they did not come from the moon.
He said under the new leadership, Kaduna state will take its prime position in the heart of the North adding that they will work hard to ensure peace and unity in Kaduna state.
Speaking during the programme, one of the leaders in Kaduna state, Alhaji Yero Makama Rigachikun told the new executive that it was a call for service.
Makama who lamented the current division in Kaduna State, blamed it on the politicians.
“ACF must work hard to unite the people. Instead of us calling ourselves Southern and Northern Kaduna, let’s see ourselves as Kaduna people.”
“Previous Northern leaders were not even knowledgeable like the new breed of politicians we have today but they were more united,” Makama said.
Makama who spoke on how they were always travelling to Southern Kaduna for weekends, wonder why the killings, stealing and segregation now persist.
He said in Kaduna State, children were attending the same schools without thinking whether the structures were build by either christian or Muslim adding that, “things have suddenly change.”
Makama who blamed politicians for the segregation, added that most politicians calls for voting base on their religious affiliation in areas they have comparative advantage.
People who attended the inauguration includes: Ambassador Sule Buba, Lawal Umar Miyere, Bulus James, Turakin Dawakin Zazzau, Alhaji Alhassan Miyere, ACF National Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Ibrahim, Hon Mamman Busa amongst others.
The new executives are:   Alhaji Kabir Umar- Chairma, Mr Aboki Galadima- Deputy Chairma, Dr Patrick Katuka- Secretary, Mohammed Rabiu Jafaru- Assistant Chairman, Hajiya Bilkisu Bambale- Assistant Secretary, Dr Yusuf Bature- Financial Secretary, Alhaji Shehu Samaila Soba- Publicity Secretary, Alhassan B Musa- Deputy Treasurer, Barr Sulaiman D Lere- Legal adviser, Alhaji Umar T Mairakumi – Assistant Auditor, Alhaji Munir Mustapha Dep Secretary and Alhaji Isah Alhassan -Treasurer.
