One of the ten PDP Aspirants for governorship of Kaduna state, Alh. Shuaibu Idris Mikati MNI, has appealed to party delegates and executive and residents of the state to have the love and fear of God and respect for fairness, rotation principle, allows and support zone II to produce the next Governor in the coming 2019 general election.
The Aspirant, Alh. Shuaibu Mikati made the appeal in Kafanchan on Tuesday, while in a Town hall meeting with PDP delegates and executives from zone three that comprises Kachia, Kauru, Kagarko, Kaura, Jaba, Sanga, Jema’a and Zangon Kataf Local Government.
Mikati explained that since 1999 and going by the principles of fairness, justice and rotation, zone one has produced the Governor thrice, zone three once, while zone two had never produce, “we are soliciting, begging, the understanding and support of the two zones, to allow zone two to produce the next governor”, he pleaded.
Alh. Mikati said residents of zone II comprising Kajuru, Chikun, Kaduna south, Kaduna North, Birnin Gwari, Igabi and Giwa Local Governments have resolved to vote their own son, not those who came to settle in the area, as a test to ascertain the style of his leadership.
He reasoned that, with the exception of Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi and Late Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, who governed the state, with genuine love and zeal of development, the state is in dire need of a leader, more so at this period of harsh economic and security challenge, which he made him offered himself, having the prerequisite, education, economic and capacity to wrestle power out from APC, and turn the fortune of the state around, positively.
Pointing that even when he was not the governor, he wooed the establishment of ELAM-Agro Industry in Kaduna, which has employed over 2500 youths, promising he will not fail on his promises, assured he would attract more of similar industries in the area of ginger and undertake human capacity development for self-reliance.
Hajiya Hafsat, Mr. Alex Ankuma, Hon. Danshehu London, Professor Musa Jaru and Mr. Bulus Makarou described Mikati as a man of integrity, promise keeper, pace setter in skill and entrepreneurial development is capable of handling the mandate of governorship; and the only one with the capacity to salvage the state from its challenges.
