2017 RAMADAN: ISLAMIC SCHOLAR CALLS FOR REDUCTION IN FOOD PRICES

From Julius B.Kezi, Kafanchan

Muslims have been called upon, especially traders and service providers, to lower prices of goods and services; foodstuff and essential commodities in order to bring succour to people in the month of Ramadan.
An Islamic scholar Mal. Nuhu Mai Ashafa, made the call on Saturday during the commencement of the 2017 Ramadan Tafsir at Zaria Street Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

Mai Ashafa said Ramadan is a period, when Allah rewards good doers, double; therefore it is incumbent for people to redouble their efforts in doing good to others as a life style.
The cleric further explained that it is not only traders that Allah shall give double reward, but whoever that uses his/her profession or talents to bring relief to the society, especially Muslin Ummah.
Mal.Nuhu also used the occasion to commend Government for efforts to develop the country; praying for the President’s good health, long life and God’s wisdom, guidance in achieving good governance, peace and the desired positive change in the country.
